The Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission approved a rule last week that will require fracking wells to be at least 500 feet away from homes and offices. The rule was criticized by both environmentalists, who had been proposing a limit of 1,000 feet away, and by industry groups, which said the rule is too strict, and proposed a limit of 350 feet away: http://kwgn.com/2013/01/09/both-sides-irked-by-state-panels-approval-of-fracking-setback-rule-2/
